THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION FOR THE SUMMER 2020 SEASON (APRIL THROUGH THE END OF OCTOBER)

Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands' only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Hotel Night Manager. This full time/seasonal position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, other perks. The ideal applicant will have five years of guest service experience with at least two or more years in a leadership role at a property with more than a hundred rooms, possess an upbeat leadership style, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Evening Manager, you will fill a key leadership role with an industry-recognized leader in Hospitality Management Services.  The Evening Manager works a 3pm to 11pm (or potentially later) shift and oversees the Resort operations with a focus on guest services, and other resort operational areas to provide our guests with exceptional service.  This position reports directly to the Director of Rooms.  The primary role of the Evening Manager is to ensure th highest quality of service when guests check-in and out and their luggage is properly handled.  This individual will ensure that guest requests are responded to promptly, and will direct his/her team by performing a variety of training reviews to ensure a consistent guest service.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a college degree and/or have 2 years of experience as a Front Desk Manager
  • Ability to work 50-60 hours a week including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions guided by policy and procedures
  • Be enthusiastic, helpful and provide guidance to the team
  • Be professional, responsible and mature in conduct and behavior
  • Self-motivated and productive with time management
  • Extensive knowledge of the Island, hotel and its services and facilities preferred
  • Proven experience supervising departments of 15+ employees 
  • Previous experience in executing against operating budgets, with an established history of meeting or exceeding established financial objectives 
  • Working knowledge of Rooms Management Systems 
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within the Front Desk department preferred
