THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION FOR THE SUMMER 2021 SEASON (APRIL THROUGH EARLY NOVEMBER)

Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands' only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of F&B Beverage Manager. This full time/seasonal position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, other perks. The ideal applicant will have two or more years of experience in Food and Beverage leadership with a focus on Beverage Programs, possess an upbeat leadership style, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Beverage Manager oversees the day-to-day beverage related operations of the Food & Beverage Department. They schedule and lead regular training sessions for the bartending and server staff. Sixty percent of your weekly hours should be spent supporting their team in the outlets and the remaining 40 percent of your time would be spent in the office to order and process beverage related inventory.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

The Beverage Manager must ensure that each bar has everything they need in stock and that the bar and storage areas are kept clean and organized. They must create Purchase Orders and receipt verify when the ordered product arrives.  They are accountable for the training of all front of house staff regarding recipes, methods & drink knowledge, creating pars for our outlets & banquets beverage program, developing wine & cocktail menus, and executing beverage inventories monthly.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) yeas of operational experience in a restaurant, bar and/or casino with at least two years in a Leadership Role.
  • Have working knowledge of all aspects of beverage and restaurant operations.
  • Must have proven experience in the development of Beverage Programs.
  • Extensive wine and beverage knowledge, (Sommelier Level 1+ preferred)
  • Ability to cost out beverages
  • Strong inventory management experience
  • Knowledge of LARA, TAMS, and Servsafe
  • ServSafe and/or eTIPS Certified
  • Advanced knowledge of Point of Sale system
  • Advanced knowledge of bartending processes and procedures
  • Proactive approach, with exceptional initiative and problem-solving abilities to ensure the highest level of productivity.
  • Ability to live and work on Mackinac Island seasonally
