THIS IS A FULL-TIME, YEAR ROUND POSITION WORKING ON MACKINAC ISLAND

Mission Point Resort, located on beautiful Mackinac Island, is an award-winning, family-owned vacation destination in Northern Michigan. Open seasonally from late April through October, Mission Point serves hundreds of thousands of guests each year in our hotel, restaurants and banquet events.

THE POSITION

Mission Point Resort is currently seeking dynamic candidates to fill the role of Assistant Food & Beverage Director. This is a Full-time/Year-round position, located on Mackinac Island offering competitive pay, housing provided, and numerous other perks. The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 5 years of restaurant/hospitality experience, with a mix of restaurant and hotel Food & Beverage experience.  Professional experience with multiple F&B outlets is highly desired.

The Assistant Director of Food and Beverage will supervise managers and operations staff in two of our full-service restaurants on-site, Round Island Bar and Grill and Bistro on the Greens, as well as the two coffee shops, Boxwood and Strait Up Coffee. It is critical that this position is filled with someone who is tactical and strategic. If you are someone who enjoys preparation that leads to excellent execution, this role is for you.

The Assistant Food and Beverage Director will be involved with the planning, execution, and growth of the Mission Point’s food and beverage operations. We encourage our leaders to inspire, encourage and challenge each other to be their best. A large degree of self-motivation is needed to drive the business financially and on the guest service end.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hospitality management, with a mix of restaurant and hotel food and beverage experience.  Professional experience with multiple F&B outlets is highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Beverage, Culinary, or Hospitality Management preferred or have the minimum experience listed above
  • Professional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing, and verbal communication
  • Must have Food Safety and TIPS or TAM certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Highly proficiency in MS Office Suite and applicable financial and POS systems
  • Organized and efficient at planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the department 
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and multi-task with an attention to detail 
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to train and motivate staff 
  • Ability to live and work on Mackinac Island
