THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION FOR THE SUMMER 2021 SEASON (APRIL THROUGH THE END OF OCTOBER)

Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands’ only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Food and Beverage Banquet Manager. This full time/seasonal position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, other perks. The ideal applicant will have two or more years of experience in Food and Beverage leadership (preferably in Banquets), possess an upbeat leadership style, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Direct and guide the banquet staff for Mission Point Resort events as sold and detailed by the Conference Service/Sales Managers to provide exceptional service to MPR banquet guests. Responsible for the management of all activities in the Banquets Department while ensuring guest satisfaction. This position reports to the Senior Food & Beverage Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma and two years experience in Restaurant/Banquets (preferably supervisory) required
  • ServSafe and Etip Certification preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Point of Sale system
  • Advanced knowledge of serving processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within the Food and Beverage department
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations, health department regulations, certification preferred
  • Proactive approach, with exceptional initiative and problem-solving abilities to ensure the highest level of productivity.
  • Ability to live and work on Mackinac Island seasonally
