THIS IS A FULL-TIME, SEASONAL POSITION FOR THE SUMMER 2021 SEASON (APRIL UNTIL EARLY NOVEMBER)

Mission Point Resort, Mackinac Islands' only full service, casual resort is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Sous Chef. This full time/seasonal position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay, housing, other perks. The ideal applicant will have two or more years of experience in Culinary leadership at a resort property, possess an upbeat leadership style, and have experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Sous Chef, you will fill a key leadership role. You will work with and oversee the lead cooks, line cooks, and stewards executing our vision for the respective restaurants/banquet operations. It is a priority to ensure that the highest  standards for preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurants are done in a safe and sanitary work environment. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School education or equivalent and at least 5 years of culinary experience (with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role)
  • Advanced knowledge of Culinary processes and procedures
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Ability to live and work on Mackinac Island seasonally
